By Huseyn Hasanov- Trend:

The development of the gas processing industry is one of the key factors for further economic strengthening of Turkmenistan, the country's Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources said.

The ministry added that it is also one of the main factors for improving the country's process safety, expansion and diversification of the sales markets of the hydrocarbon resources, stimulating the development of almost all economic sectors.

Gas processing for producing liquid and other sought-after products in the world market is the promising and cost-effective vector of diversification of the gas production for Turkmenistan which has huge volumes of proven natural gas reserve, said the country's ministry.

Currently, converting the natural gas into the liquid or solid high-quality petrochemical products for export is becoming increasingly relevant in Turkmenistan.

"We have all conditions for ensuring the high profitability of the gas chemical production and increasing the income potential of its products," said the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources.

In this regard, the policy of broad international cooperation, favorable climate in the country, expanding of the directions of the transnational transit and transportation corridors with a way to the neighboring countries and large sea ports play an important role.

This will constructively solve the issues of export of the products of gas processing.

While counting on deeper and complex processing of natural gas to increase the share of the products of gas processing for export, Turkmenistan will take a worthy place on a more lucrative market of chemical products in the near future.

This will be achieved after the country's passing from the role of a supplier of raw materials to the role of a competitive producer of finished products, the information said.

Turkmenistan, in terms of its natural gas reserves, ranks fourth in the world, and now has the opportunity to export it to China, Iran and Russia, according to a BP report.

Ashgabat aims at diversifying the domestic economy, promoting the textile industry, oil products, and the country is actively developing the oil and gas chemistry areas.
