By Fatih Karimov - Trend: More than 16.6 billion liters of liquid fuel, namely gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil, were consumed in Iran in spring this year.

Iran also consumed 0.5 million tons of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) during the mentioned time.

More precisely, 16.628 billion liters of liquid fuel were consumed in the 3-month period by power plants, industrial units, and vehicles, compared to 18.756 billion liters in spring last year, Iran's IRNA news agency reported July 3.

Some 6.640 billion liters of gasoline, 7.263 billion liters of diesel, 2.371 billion liters of fuel oil, and 353.4 million liters of kerosene were consumed in spring this year.

Iran has reduced the supply of liquid fuel to power plants as it plans to replace liquid fuel with natural gas.

Over 50 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to the country's power plants last fiscal year (ended on March 20), 15 billion cubic meters more compared to its preceding year. The supply of liquid fuel to power plants was decreased by 1.8 billion liters in the past Iranian fiscal year.
