Turkmengaz state concern of Turkmenistan and South Korea's LG International and Hyundai Engineering have signed a framework agreement for a contract on working out a project on purchasing equipment and constructing a plant for production of liquid synthetic fuel from natural gas processing, said the message from Turkmenistan's Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources.
The corresponding agreement was reached during the recent visit of Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to South Korea, said the message.
South Korean consortium has already started to implement a number of projects in Turkmenistan. The construction of a gas chemical complex for polyethylene and polypropylene production is underway in the village of Kiyanly.
The project is being implemented jointly with Japan's TOYO Engineering and South Korea's LG International Corporation and Hyundai Engineering Corp. Ltd. The production capacity of the complex will be 386,000 metric tons of polyethylene and 81,000 metric tons of polypropylene per year.
