The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 3.37 billion cubic meters of gas in January-June 2015 or by 6.4 percent (3.6 billion cubic meters) less than in the same period of 2014, SOCAR said August 3.
SOCAR develops the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields and the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field jointly with foreign partners.
SOCAR produced 7.22 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014 compared to 7.31 billion cubic meters in 2013.
Around 14.68 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in Azerbaijan in January-June 2015, which is 4.7 percent less than in January-June 2014 (15.4 billion cubic meters).
The country produced some 29.62 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014 compared to 30.78 billion cubic meters in 2013.
SOCAR includes Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations.
In addition, the state oil company has a number of processing and service enterprises, as well as institutions involved in geophysical and drilling activities.
