Oil production growing in Turkmenistan’s west

Oil production at Goturdepeneft oil and gas production department in Turkmenistan has exceeded 1.7 million metric tons as of H1 2015, or half of the crude production by Turkmenoil state concern, Turkmenistan 's Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources said.

Turkmenoil state concern has expanded the scope of exploration and drilling work, increased the oil and gas production, the ministry said.

Moreover, 42 wells, including 34 exploratory and eight production wells have been put into operation in H1 2015.

The drillers of Goturdepe Drilling Operations Management were particularly distinguished. They have handed over 11 productive wells to miners of Goturdepeneft oil and gas production department.

Commercial inflow of oil was obtained at the wells No.167, 1770, 650 at Dagadzhik, East and North Goturdepe fields in recent months. Their daily production rate is 20-60 metric tons of oil.

Currently, the well No.218 is being drilled at North Goturdepe field on the Caspian Sea shelf.

While exploring the shallow part of the sea, Turkmenoil state concern uses modern equipment and highly efficient technologies of dual completion of two or more horizons in one well.

The resources of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea are estimated at 12 billion metric tons of oil and 6.5 trillion cubic meters of gas. A number of the contracted middle and deep areas were put up for international tender.

Currently, the state concern operates about 30 fields, including more than 600 oil, oil-gas and gas deposits at different stages of development.
