The consumption of petroleum and other liquid fuels will increase by 2.4 percent in the world in 2015-2016 compared to 2014, the October short-term forecast of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) says.

The consumption of petroleum and other liquid fuels will increase by 2.4 percent in the world in 2015-2016 compared to 2014, the October short-term forecast of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) says.

In particular, the global consumption of liquid fuels in 2015 is projected at 93.79 million barrels per day (compared to 92.45 million barrels per day in 2014).

The global consumption of liquid fuels is projected at 95.2 million barrels per day in 2016.

According to EIA, the global consumption of liquid fuels amounted to 92.87 million barrels per day in the first quarter of 2015, 93.26 million barrels per day in the second quarter. The forecast of consumption in the third quarter of 2015 amounts to 94.55 million barrels per day, in the fourth quarter - 94.44 million barrels per day. The global consumption of liquid fuels in the first, second, third and fourth quarters of 2016 is projected at 94.23 million barrels per day, 94.76 million barrels per day, 95.95 million barrels per day and 95.84 million barrels per day respectively.
