Chinese companies intend to strengthen their positions on the promising Turkmen market and actively develop trade and economic ties, the Turkmen government said Nov. 12.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recently paid an official visit to Beijing.
Turkmen-Chinese talks are being held at the highest level in Beijing Nov. 12. The agenda includes a wide range of issues focusing on interstate cooperation.

Dozens of important joint projects are set to be the results of following a balanced model of interaction, noted officials.
Among such projects is the laying of the Turkmenistan-China transnational gas pipeline, ensuring the long-term supplies of Turkmen gas to China.

Chinese businessmen are taking an active part in the ongoing large-scale investment projects.
Among the planned projects is the construction of important industrial and social facilities, in particular as part of the integrated development of the largest gas field in Turkmenistan - "Galkynysh".

"This cooperation is in the interests of two friendly countries," Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper wrote Nov. 12. "Moreover, the cooperation is an essential factor in strengthening peace, stability and sustainable development throughout the Central Asian region."

Turkmenistan and China are strategic economic partners.
