Trend:

If Turkey needs the Turkish Stream, it may appeal to Russia for talks, Alexey Miller, the head of Gazprom, told reporters, RIA Novosti reported.

"No appeals have been made yet," the statement said.

The Turkish Stream project involves the construction of a gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea. The countries agreed on the project implementation a year ago - in Ankara December 1, 2014. However, an intergovernmental agreement was not signed. A source familiar with the situation reported that further negotiations on the construction of the gas pipeline were suspended.

Turkey-Russia relations deteriorated after the Turkish Air Force shot down the Russian Su-24 warplane Nov. 24.
