The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 131,530 tons of oil products in January 2016 compared to 127,330 tons of oil products in the same period of 2015, SOCAR said Feb. 2.
SOCAR exported 1.23 million tons of oil products in 2015 compared to around 1.2 million tons in 2014.
Previously, oil products in Azerbaijan were produced at two refineries in Baku. Both of these refineries were included in SOCAR, which annually processes around 7 million tons of oil produced at onshore and offshore fields with its own funds.
SOCAR announced the liquidation of Azneftyag oil refinery and its merger with the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery in December 2014.
The major part of Azerbaijani oil products is exported to Georgia.
