Oil transportation through Turkey rises in 2015

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline transported 262.19 million barrels of oil through Turkey’s territory in 2015, compared to 260.68 million barrels in 2014.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline transported 262.19 million barrels of oil through Turkey's territory in 2015, compared to 260.68 million barrels in 2014, the Turkish state pipeline company Botas said in a message on its website Feb. 2.

The total length of the BTC pipeline is 1,768 kilometers of which 443 kilometers go through Azerbaijan, 249 kilometers - through Georgia and 1076 kilometers - through Turkey.

Construction of the pipeline started in April 2003 and it was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

Iraq-Turkey pipeline transported 192.43 million barrels of oil through Turkey's territory in 2015, compared to 48.66 million barrels in 2014.

Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline transported 30.98 million barrels of oil through Turkey's territory in 2015, compared to 22.21 million barrels in 2014.

Batman-Dortyol pipeline transported 19.72 million barrels of oil in 2015, compared to 17.78 million barrels in 2014.
