BP increases volume of associated gas delivered to Azerbaijan

In 2015, BP, an operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, delivered 3.2 billion cubic meters of associated gas to Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, compared to 2.76 billion cubic meters in 2014.

In 2015, BP, an operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, delivered 3.2 billion cubic meters of associated gas to Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR, compared to 2.76 billion cubic meters in 2014, according to BP's report on operations in Azerbaijan in 2015.

The associated gas is delivered to SOCAR as part of the ACG development, free of charge.

In 2015, 15 oil wells and two water-injection wells were drilled at the ACG field.

The daily average volume of associated gas delivered to SOCAR in 2014 amounted to 8.9 million cubic meters, according to the report.

The contract for development of ACG field was signed in 1994. The proven oil reserve of the block nears 1 billion tons.

The shareholders of the project are: BP (operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli) - 35.8 percent, Chevron - 11.3 percent, Inpex - 11 percent, AzACG - 11.6 percent, Statoil - 8.6 percent, Exxon - 8 percent, TPAO - 6.8 percent, Itocu - 4.3 percent and ONGC - 2.7 percent.
