Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR intends to continue the expansion of the company's retail network of filling stations in Switzerland, SOCAR Energy Switzerland (SOCAR's subsidiary) told Trend.

"SOCAR Energy Switzerland continues its strategy of growth through selected new sites, while persuading new independent site owners of joining our brand," said the company.

Building upon the successful establishment of the SOCAR brand in Switzerland, the company is planning to expand in all regions nationwide with the ultimate goal of integration in the global value chain of SOCAR, thus maximizing its contribution to the parent company and to the gross national product of Azerbaijan, added the company.

Currently, SOCAR Energy Switzerland runs 158 retail stations in Switzerland and all of them are SOCAR branded.

"Fifty four of the SOCAR stations have Migrolino shops, offering a large convenience product assortment," said the company.

Migrolino is the convenience shop format of the largest supermarket player in Switzerland.

"While benefiting both sides, our partnership with Migrolino is one of the successful measures, adopted by the SOCAR management in order to increase the efficiency of our retail network in Switzerland," the company added.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. The company also has filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.

SOCAR exported 350,000 tons of oil products in January-March 2016 as compared to 348,600 tons exported in the same period of 2015.
