Power plants of the Azerenergy JSC, Azerbaijan's main electricity producer, generated 7.6 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January-April 2016 as compared to 8.2 billion kilowatt hours generated in the same period 2015, said Azerenergy in a message May 3.
Azerenergy's power plants produced about 1.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in April 2016 versus 1.9 billion kilowatt hours in April 2015.
In 2015, Azerenergy produced more than 22.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity as compared to about 22.7 billion kilowatt hours generated in 2014.
Meanwhile, generation capacity of Azerbaijan's power system grew by 30 percent over the past five years.
