The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline transported 1.6 million tons of Kazakh oil in 2015, Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry told Trend May 4.
BTC hasn't transported the Kazakh oil since the second half of 2015 due to the expansion of the system of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
The ministry also said that Baku hosted the 12th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in December 2015.
During the meeting, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan agreed to expand the cooperation in transportation of oil and oil products with an aim to diversify the routes from the Caspian region to the world and European markets, added the Kazakh Energy Ministry.
