Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR continues to pump gas into the country's underground gas storages, the company told Trend May 5.

About 247.84 million cubic meters of gas has been pumped into the storages as of May 5, said the company.

Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities, Kalmaz and Garadagh, which are on the balance of SOCAR.

SOCAR said that 102.74 million cubic meters of the total gas volume pumped into the storages accounted for Garadagh storage, and 145.1 million cubic meters - for Kalmaz storage.

"In total, about 2.7 billion cubic meters of gas is planned to pump into the underground storages until the end of the season," said the company.

The country's underground storages allow the pumping of over 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
