Azerbaijani operating company Salyan Oil, which is developing the Kursengi and Garabagli onshore oil fields in Azerbaijan, has produced about 60,000 tons of oil since early 2016, a source in the country's oil and gas market told Trend May 23.

The source said the company has produced 4.8 million tons of oil to date.

"The volume of oil output at the [Kursengi and Garabagli] fields has been set at 171,000 tons for 2016 and today the extraction is going on according to the plan," noted the source. "The company is confident that the annual plan will be fulfilled."

The source added that currently about 400,000 tons of oil per day is being extracted from the Kursengi and Garabagli fields.

The founders of Salyan Oil are Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR and the China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development Corporation.
