By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Iran's Petropars oil company is repairing 4 wells at the Salman oil field to boost the field's associated gas output by 2.8 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d), according to Petropars Drilling Director Mahmoud Javadian.

The repair operations will be over by September this year, he noted, Mehr news agency reported May 23.

Currently Iran produces 2 mcm/d of associated gas from this field.

Iran shares the field with the United Arab Emirates.

Iran currently produces 47,000 barrels of oil crude per day from this field. The field has been linked the South Pars gas field to deliver the produced gas to South Pars' refineries.

Commenting on other projects underway by Petropars, Javadian said that six wells of South Pars Phase 1 will be completed by July.

Wells at phase 19 of the South Pars field will also be complete by November.

By then an offshore platform will also be ready to be installed, he added.

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has deployed most of its drilling rigs in Salman because it is shared with the UAE.
