Kazakhstan’s proven oil reserves amounted to 30 billion barrels in early 2016, says OPEC’s Annual Statistical Bulletin for 2016 (ASB2016) issued June 22.

Estimates for Kazakhstan’s proven oil reserves remained unchanged compared to the last year’s data.

The country’s oil output decreased by 1.7 percent – to 1.32 million barrels per day in 2015, according to OPEC data.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s oil demand increased by 1.1 percent – to 297,700 barrels, says the cartel.

The country's largest oil fields are Tengiz, Karachaganak, at which Kazakhstan plans to expand the production, and Kashagan, where the output is planned to be resumed by late 2016.
