Azneft, a production unit of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, plans to drill 88 new wells in 2017, SOCAR said in a message posted on its website.
According to the message, during the discussions held June 23 on Azneft’s 2017 work program it was noted that drilling works at 89 other wells will be completed and 45 new facilities will be commissioned in 2017.
Addressing the meeting, Azneft Production Union’s Deputy Director General Adalat Eminov said prospecting works at Azerbaijan’s Goshadash structure will be completed until the end of 2016.
In case if there are positive results, drilling will be started at Goshadash, he noted.
Eminov added that it is also planned to expand seismic exploration at the Bulla Deniz field in 2017.
Azneft produced 2.62 million tons of oil and 2.39 billion cubic meters of gas in January-May 2016.
