Oil production at Soroush oilfield has increased by 6,000 barrels per day, Abbas Rajabkhani, an official with the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), said.
Rajabkhani, who heads the IOOC's operations in Lavan region, southern Iran said that the output increase realized after the platform pipeline and the well 32 in the field become operational, IRNA news agency reported June 26.
He further said that the project was carried out by Iranian experts.
Soroush oil field is considered to be one of the biggest oil fields in Persian Gulf with more than 15 billion barrels of oil reserve. The field is located 80 kilometers west of Khark Island.
Soroush oil field’s production capacity stands at 90,000 barrels of oil a day.
