The US imported 2.1 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in January-April 2016, while the country didn’t import Azerbaijani oil during the same period of 2015, said the message posted on the website of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The US imported 4.82 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2015 versus 8.4 million barrels in 2014.

The main export route of Azerbaijan’s Azeri Light oil is the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, via which oil is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port.

Azeri Light oil is also exported from Georgia’s Supsa port, to which oil is delivered via Baku-Supsa pipeline.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani oil is also exported from Georgia’s Black Sea port of Batumi, to which oil is delivered via the railway from Baku, as well as from Russia’s Novorossiysk port – via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
