More than 2.73 million tons of Azerbaijani oil (20.45 million barrels) will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in August 2016, a source on the country’s oil and gas market told Trend July 28.

A major part of the shipped oil will be accounted for Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, which will carry out the shipment in 15 batches, said the source.

“The volume of Azerbaijani oil’s daily shipment from Ceyhan port will be more than 88,000 tons (nearly 660,000 barrels) in August 2016 – at the level of export planned for July 2016,” noted the source. “More than half of the shipment volume will be accounted for SOCAR.”

Almost 1.58 million tons of oil (11.8 million barrels) will be accounted for SOCAR, while the remaining part for the companies ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL ACG), Chevron, Inpex, TPAO, ExxonMobil.

Oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443 kilometer-long section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer long section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer long section in Turkey.
