Consortium of Japan’s Kawasaki and Turkey’s Ronesans is constructing a big gas processing plant in Turkmenistan’s Ovadan to produce high-quality gasoline from natural gas, said the Turkmen oil and gas complex in a message Aug. 31.

The project’s customer is the country’s Turkmengas State Concern.

At the current phase, pipes are being laid for the gas processing plant at the 304-th kilometer of the main internal East-West pipeline.

The technological process of turning gas into liquid fuels envisages the construction of a chain of technological installations for advanced cleaning of natural gas, the production of synthesis gas, methanol, and then installations for the production and ennoblement of gasoline, according to the message.

Total cost of the project is $1.7 billion and the project is being implemented through the investments of the Japanese side and the funds from Turkmengas State Concern.
