Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG hired Ulrike Andres as its new Commercial & External Affairs Director, TAP reported Aug.20.

Andres has held a number of management roles at a senior level in the oil and gas industry and joins TAP from the Transalpine Pipeline Group – Europe’s largest pipeline company transporting crude oil from Trieste to eight central European refineries – where she was President and Chief Executive Officer for more than five years.

Prior to this role, Andres has held a multitude of senior positions working for Shell and SHV Holdings amongst others. These also include working as General Manager for Primagaz Austria, Commercial Director for Supergasbras in Brazil and General Manager for Shell Gas in the Czech Republic. In addition, Ulrike also held the position of President of the European LPG Association between 2009 and 2011.

TAP project envisages transportation of gas from the Stage 2 of development of Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz gas and condensate field to the EU countries.

The 870-kilometer pipeline will be connected to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) on the Turkish-Greek border, run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Italy's south.

A ceremony marking the beginning of construction for the project was held on Tuesday, 17 May in Thessaloniki.

TAP's shareholding is comprised of BP (20 percent), SOCAR (20 percent), Snam S.p.A. (20 percent), Fluxys (19 percent), Enagás (16 percent) and Axpo (5 percent).
