Work on the laying of the Turkish Stream pipeline will be launched in 2017, TASS quoted Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak as saying.

Novak made the remarks Oct. 12 on the results of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission’s meeting.

"The intergovernmental agreement, which specifies the terms of the project’s implementation by commercial companies, was signed on Oct. 10,” said the minister adding that the works will be completed in late 2019.

Currently, big preliminary work is underway, he said, Russia has received all the required permissions to start current works on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project.

Novak also added that the amount of the discount on Russian gas prices for Turkish consumers will be determined during the negotiations.
