Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has achieved a stable export of oil products via its new route which runs through Russia, a source in the country’s oil and gas market told Trend Oct. 26.

The source said about 30,000 tons of oil products have been exported via the new route in 2016.

“The route has proved itself and we stably export 5,000-6,000 tons of oil products per month via it,” noted the source. “Here matter rests in diesel fuel export.”

In Russia, a part of the oil products reaches the Azov Port in the Azov Sea to be exported from there. Another part is exported via the northern routes, including the Baltic Sea.

SOCAR exported 838,160 tons of oil products in January-September 2016, as compared to 885,760 tons in nine months of 2015.

In 2015, SOCAR exported 1.23 million tons of oil products, as compared to 1.2 million tons in 2014.
