Commissioning of an oil terminal in the vicinity of Imamnazar customs point (Lebap region of Turkmenistan, near the border with Afghanistan) will make it possible to increase the export volumes of oil products, the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan said in a message.

Specialists of the Turkmen state oil and gas construction concern completed the construction and installation work at the new facility with a capacity of 540,000 tons of oil per year.

Currently, setup of the main equipment is being completed, testing of lines and pumping equipment designed to pump out oil products from railway tanks is being carried out at the station.

The terminal consists of four sections: administrative and auxiliary buildings, a section for reception of oil products, a section for storage of oil products, which includes metal tanks, a section for pumping oil products into tank trucks in the border area.

The message also said that the branch line of the new Atamyrat-Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) - Akina (Afghanistan) steel backbone, the launch of which is scheduled for late November, has been brought directly to the terminal.
