US crude oil imports averaged about 7.6 million barrels per day during the week ending Nov.18, down by 845,000 barrels per day from the previous week, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its This Week in Petroleum report.

“Over the last four weeks, the US crude oil imports averaged over 8.1 million barrels per day, 13.3 percent above the same four-week period last year,” said the report.

The US total motor gasoline imports (including both finished gasoline and gasoline blending components) last week averaged 855,000 barrels per day, while its distillate fuel imports averaged 136,000 barrels per day last week, said the report.

According to EIA estimates, the country’s gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.7 million barrels per day.

The US distillate fuel production increased last week, averaging 5.1 million barrels per day, said the report.

The price for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil was $45.69 per barrel on November 18, or $2.30 over last week’s price and $6.30 above a year ago, according to EIA.
