Azerbaijan’s SOCAR-AQS LLC has completed drilling a new horizontal well #29 at the Western Absheron field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend Dec. 6.
“The drilling was launched from the offshore platform #20,” said the company. “The well’s depth is 786 meters.”
It is expected that the well will be ready for putting into operation ahead of time, added the company.
Azneft Production Union is the customer of the work.
The Western Absheron field is on the balance of SOCAR’s Absheronneft Oil & Gas Extraction Management. SOCAR-AQS carries out the drilling operations at the field on the basis of the agreement.
SOCAR-AQS was established in 2007 by SOCAR and Absheron Drilling as a joint venture, rendering integrated services for drilling and well servicing.
