Azerbaijani power plants generated 20.82 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January-November 2016, which is by 0.1 percent less than in the same period of 2015, the country’s State Statistics Committee said in a report.
According to the report, some 19.89 billion kilowatt hours of the total electricity generated during the reporting period accounted for commercial electricity in January-November 2016, which is 0.2 percent more than in January-November 2015.
Thermal power plants generated 18.02 billion kilowatt hours of the total commercial electricity generated in January-November 2016, or 2.1 percent less than in the same period of 2015.
Azerbaijan’s hydro-power plants generated 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of commercial electricity in January-November 2016, which is 24.8 percent more than in January-November 2015.
Wind farms produced 16 million kilowatt hours of electricity, while solar power plants – 61.7 million kilowatt hours of electricity in the reporting period.
