US increases forecast for global oil supply

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) increased the forecast on the global supplies of petroleum and other liquids for 2017, says its January short-term energy outlook.

Global petroleum and other liquids supplies are expected at the level of 97.53 million barrels per day in 2017, according to the new forecast.

In its December short term energy outlook, the EIA forecast global oil supplies at the level of 97.42 in 2017.
The forecast for global petroleum and other liquids supplies in 2018 hits 98.86, according to January outlook. The EIA gives forecast for 2018 for the first time in its short term energy outlook.

Global petroleum and other liquids supplies stood at 95.78 million barrels per day in 2015 and 96.44 million barrels per day in 2016, according to the EIA.

The EIA has also revised the forecast for supplies from non-OPEC countries.

These supplies are forecast at the level of 57.26 million barrels per day in 2017, as compared to the forecast of 57.2 million barrels per day in the December energy outlook.

In 2018, supplies from non-OPEC countries are expected at the level of 98.86 million barrels per day.

Supplies of petroleum and other liquids from non-OPEC countries totaled 57.48 million barrels per day in 2015 and 56.85 million barrels per day in 2016.

Quarterly global petroleum and other liquids production is expected at the level of 96.43 million, 97.26 million, 98.02 million and 98.37 million barrels per day, respectively, in 2017.

In 2018 quarterly global petroleum and other liquids is forecast at 97.78 million, 98.95 million, 99.26 million, 99.4 million barrels per day, respectively.
