Kazakh refineries sharply increase gasoline production

Three big refineries operating in Kazakhstan - Atyrau Refinery, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant and PetroKazakhstan Oil Products (Shymkent Refinery) increased gasoline production to 296,546 tons in January 2017, KazMunaiGas Refining and Marketing company said in a message Feb. 13.

Gasoline production increased by 37 percent compared to January 2017 and exceeded target plan for this period by 4.75 percent.
Moreover these three refineries produced 357,948 tons of diesel fuel and 20,089 tons aviation kerosene in the reporting period.

Oil processing increased by 32.8 percent in Jan. 2017 compared to Jan. 2016 to 1.24 million tons.
Currently, modernization is underway in all three large refineries of Kazakhstan, which will allow increasing gasoline production and improving its quality in Kazakhstan. The modernization of those refineries is planned to be completed in 2018.

KazMunaiGas Refining and Marketing holds 100 percent in the Pavlodar refinery, 99.53-percent stake in the Atyrau refinery, and a 49.7-percent stake in the Shymkent refinery.
