SOCAR Ukraine, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, has started gas trade in Ukrainian market.

This is evidenced by a copy of the company’s contracts with the gas transmission company Ukrtransgaz for gas transportation, as well as a contract on natural gas purchase/sale, the Ukrainian media outlets reported.

In particular, SOCAR Ukraine signed a contract with Ukrtransgaz on Dec. 14, 2016, on transportation of 180 million cubic meters of gas from January to December 2017.

The company signed another contract with ERU Trading on Dec. 30, 2016, on purchase of 131 million cubic meters of gas with the delivery throughout 2017.

Moreover, on Dec. 19, SOCAR Ukraine signed a contract with EuroEnergoTrade LLC on the sale of 220 million cubic meters of natural gas with its delivery throughout 2017.

According to tender documents of the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) public joint stock company on purchase of natural gas, SOCAR Ukraine is also among bidders for supply of 36.6 million cubic meters of gas.

SOCAR Ukraine was opened in 2008 and manages a network of 60 SOCAR filling stations in Ukraine.
