Azerbaijan reduces oil export from Sangachal terminal

Over 286.8 million barrels of oil were exported from Azerbaijan’s Sangachal oil terminal in 2016 compared to 296 million barrels of oil exported in 2015, the BP report on its activity in Azerbaijan for 2016 said Feb. 22.

The total volume of the exported oil included over 253.4 million barrels of oil exported through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, over 30.3 million barrels through the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP), and more than 3.1 million barrels of condensate via a separate export line, according to the report.

At present, the total capacity of the terminal’s technical processing systems makes up 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, and for the gas from the Shah Deniz field - 29.5 million cubic meters per day (together with associated gas from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil and gas fields, the total gas processing capacity at the terminal is 49.3 million cubic meters per day).

On average, 28.9 million cubic meters of Shah Deniz gas was exported from the Sangachal terminal daily in 2016, the report said.
