More than 2.8 million tons (20.22 million barrels) of Azerbaijani oil will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in April 2017, a source in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend Mar. 30.

A major part of the oil – about 2.23 million tons (15.9 million barrels) – will account for Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, which will deliver 24 cargoes.

The remaining parts will account for Inpex, Chevron, Statoil, TPAO and joint production, the source added.

Oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section in Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey.

Condensate from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz and oil from Turkmenistan are also shipped from the Ceyhan port.
