Gazprom’s gas output up 12.5% since early 2017

Russia’s Gazprom has increased the gas production by 12.5 percent from Jan. 1 to Apr. 15, 2017 as compared to the same period in 2016, and brought gas output to 144.9 billion cubic meters, RIA Novosti reported citing a message from the company.

Russia’s Gazprom has increased the gas production by 12.5 percent from Jan. 1 to Apr. 15, 2017 as compared to the same period in 2016, and brought gas output to 144.9 billion cubic meters, RIA Novosti reported citing a message from the company.

Gazprom continues to actively boost the gas production, according to the message.

The company’s board member Vsevolod Cherepanov said in late March that the company expects an increase in gas output in 2017 as compared to 2016. Gazprom produced 419.07 billion cubic meters of gas in 2016, or 0.14 percent more than in 2015.

Gazprom is a global energy company focused on geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and sales of gas, gas condensate and oil, sales of gas as a vehicle fuel, as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power.

Gazprom holds the world’s largest natural gas reserves. The company’s share in the global and Russian gas reserves amounts to 17 and 72 percent, respectively. Gazprom accounts for 11 and 66 percent of the global and national gas output, correspondingly.
