Opening ceremony of a two-day international gas congress was held in Turkmenistan’s Avaza on May 23, according to the event’s organizers.
Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern and UK’s Summit Trade Events Ltd are the organizers of the congress.
The forum is being attended by 326 delegates from 36 countries, representing 121 companies and organizations, including heads of 10 foreign representative delegations from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Georgia, South Korea, Afghanistan, Philippine, Pakistan and Turkey.
During the event, foreign companies will have an opportunity to present their proposals on investing, introducing new technologies, supplying modern equipment for the needs of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan.
According to the country’s Oil and Gas Complex, the issues on progress of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline’s construction will also be discussed at the forum.
Moreover, Turkmenistan will announce plans on industrial development until 2025, including new priority projects and opportunities for international investments.
Turkmenistan is one of main players on the energy market of the Caspian region and ranks fourth in the world for its gas reserves.
The country annually produces about 70-80 billion cubic meters of gas and delivers gas to Iran and China.
