Turkmenistan steadily supplying gas to China

As of May 20, 2017, Turkmenistan has supplied to China 170.3 billion cubic meters of gas since the beginning of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline’s operation in 2009, Deng Minmin, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) general manager in charge of the Turkmenistan branch, said in his report.

He presented the report at the Turkmenistan Gas Congress, held May 23-24 in Avaza, Turkmenistan.

“Of the total supplied gas, 111.2 billion cubic meters were delivered by Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern, while 59.1 billion cubic meters were sent from the Bagtyyarlyk contractual territory, where gas production is carried out by the CNPC under a PSA (production sharing agreement) terms,” said the report.

In accordance with the agreement signed between CNPC and Turkmengas, annual gas supplies from Turkmenistan to China in the future will be increased to 65 billion cubic meters.
