As many as 12.7 million tons of oil were produced in Turkmenistan in 2016, which is 0.4 percent less than in 2015, according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy published June 13.
At the same time, oil consumption in Turkmenistan amounted to 6.7 million tons in 2016, which is 0.8 percent more than in 2015, the BP said.
Turkmennebit (Turkmen oil) State Concern is the country’s main oil producer. Such companies as Burren Energy (branch of Eni), Mitro International Limited, Dragon Oil, Petronas are among foreign companies producing oil in Turkmenistan.
