As many as 66.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in Turkmenistan in 2016, which is 4.3 percent less than in 2015 (69.6 billion cubic meters of gas), according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy published June 13.
At the same time, gas consumption in Turkmenistan amounted to 29.5 billion cubic meters in 2016 compared to 29.4 billion cubic meters in 2015, BP said.
Currently, China and Iran are consumers of Turkmen gas, and the Chinese market tends to increase gas demand.
