AZERBAIJAN, GEORGIA POSTPONE ENERGY GATHERING

A meeting of energy authorities of Azerbaijan and Georgia has been postponed till next week, according to Azerenerji.

Azerenerji President Etibar Pirverdiyev is expected to head the company’s delegation to the meeting, which was originally scheduled for Friday.

At the event, the participating sides will discuss the possibility for the resumption of cooperation between energy authorities of the two countries in the field of energy systems, which have been left interrupted from each other over the past five years following technical and financial problems.

The sides will also discuss technical aspects of electricity swaps between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The scheme envisions electricity supply to Azerbaijan from Georgia in summers and a feedback flow [from Azerbaijan to Georgia] in winters.
