CAPACITY OF 6 PGU OF AZERBAIJANI HEPS TO INCREASE BY 30 MW

The 6-th power generating unit (PGU) capacity of the Azerbaijani hydro-electric power station (HEPS) in Mingyachevir, which is the greatest in the country, generating half of the energy, will be increased by 30MW up to 280 MW, the JSC Azerenerji press service told Trend. Increase will be achieved after the PGU repair, which started in the framework of preparation to the winter period.

According to the Azerbaijani HEPS director, Shikhmammad Aslanov, the unit is in a good condition, however, after the intensive winter some details turned to be worn out. Therefore, to maintain it in the required operation mode, some replacements are needed to be made”, he noted.

4 power-generating units among 8 available are operating currently at the Azerbaijan HEPS. Plants N5,6,7 remained for the repair, plant N4 is in reserve.
