LOCAL REFINERY TO BOOST EXPORTS

Oil&Gas Materials 5 July 2005 14:14 (UTC +04:00)

SOCAR’s Azerneftyagh refinery is planning to increase exports of diesel fuel this month, following the expansion of crude oil supplies to the facility last month.

Azerneftyagh enjoys the status of an independent exporter of petroleum products.

The refinery expects to supply 90,000 tons of diesel fuel to foreign markets, up 16,000 tons as compared to the corresponding performance last month.

“Everything will depend on the amount of crude supplies to our refinery,” an Azerneftyagh source told Trend.

The State oil company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) mulls the pumping of 250,000 tons of crude oil into the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline every month, from July through September, up 30,000 tons from the basic amount of supplies.

That means that SOCAR’s two refineries will likely receive 495,000 tons of crude oil per month, down from the existing rate of 525,000 tons.
