BРђTUMI OIL TERMINAL INCREASED OIL CARGO TRANSSHIPMENT ESSENTIALLY

During the first half-year of 2005, 4,316 million tons of oil cargo has been reloaded through the Batumi oil terminal on the Black Sea, which is 1,01 million tons more of the 2004 similar period, the reliable sources close to the port told Trend .

During 2004, 6,778 million tons of oil cargo has been reloaded through the Batumi port, which is 1,9 million tons less of 2003.

According to the sources, in June 2005 transshipment in Batumi port was 923,3 thousand tons, which is 73,2 thousand tons less of May 2005 and 494,6 thousand tons more of June 2004.

The Batumi oil terminal is capable to transship up to 15 million tons of oil cargo a year. The terminal services tankers with the deadweight of 30-90 thousand tons on 4 berths, including the portable buoy for the vessels of the Aframax class. The capacity of the terminal’s tank park is currently about 530,000 tons, which is more than sufficient for transshipment of the current and the forecasted cargo, going through the corridor.
