The gas import from Russia is expected to be restored on Friday, Azerigas joint stock company (JSC) told Trend. The daily import will comprise approximately 14m cu m of
gas.
The import was stopped from July 26 to 29 due to the repair of the gas pipeline in the territory of Dagestan.
Though no additional preventive work is planned in gas pipelines in 2005, it stills depends on Russia, the Azerigaz JSC noted.
Azerbaijan purchased 2.6bn cu m gas in January to June of 2005, or 99 million cu m less than 2004. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to purchase around 6bn cu m gas from Russian gas giant Gasexport through the Shirvanovka-Gazimammad pipeline at $60 per 1,000 cu m.
