This year Azerigas JSC plans to pump 1 billion cu m of gas to underground gas reservoirs Garadagh and Kalmaz, the deputy chairman of the company, told a news conference on Tuesday.
According to Samedzade, as of 6 September 2005 750 million cu m of natural gas has been pumped to the gas reservoirs and the relevant work is underway. "Active volume of Garadagh and Kalmaz gas reservoirs is 1.3 billion cu m.
If from 1995 we got restricted 200-300 million cu m of gas, starting from 2000 through importing natural gas from Russia we gained an opportunity to increase gas pumping," Samedzade said.
Samedzade said that dynamic of collection of natural gas storage shows in 2002 it was 450 million cu m, in 2003-2004 - 530 million cu m, in 2004-2005 - 602 million cu m.
"The fuel and energy balance committed us to store 700 million cu m. this year, while at the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers 1 billion cu m of natural gas will be pumped and the current resource enables to forecast that the gas collection in is volume will be possible by the end of this year,” Samedzade underlined.
