BY 2008 AZERIGAS TO COMPLETE GASIFICATION OF 4 AZERI REGIONS

Azerigas JSC is eager to conclude by 2008 the gasification of 4 regions in Azerbaijan вЂ" Imishli, Beylagan. Lerik and Yardimly, which do not receive fuel currently, Nazim Samedzade, the deputy chairman of the JSC, told Trend.

According to Samadzade, in the forthcoming autumn-winter season it is planned to restore gas distribution network and gas supply of Imishli. A repair of 33km gas line between Imihsli and Saatly is nearing to end in this district.

Samadzade noted that by 2006-2007 autumn-winter season the gas supply of Beylagan and Agjabadi will be complete, while by 2008 вЂ" for Lerik and Yardimly. “At present the projection of the gas supply to Lerik, Yardimly is underway, as the relief of the regions is mountainous
and it evolves definite problems,” he underscored.

82.5bn manats (over $17.5m) is required for the gasification of 4 regions of Azerbaijan: 24bn manats (over $5.1m) for Beylagan for the reconstruction of the 65km-pipeline, 16.5bn manats (over $3.5m) for Agjabadi for the reconstruction of 45km gas pipeline, 10.5bn manats (over $2.23m and 90km gas pipeline) for Imishli, 10.5bn manats (over $2.23m and 42km) for Yardimly, and 21bn manats (over $4.45m and 79km) for Lerik.

The work is realized under the State Program on Socio-Economic Development of regions in Azerbaijan. At present along with Baku 49 districts more are supplied with gas.
