The SOCAR completed the drilling and temporarily conserved the second production
well 169 in Absheron Banka area.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend that the project depth of the well is 750 meters. Drilling of a new well with the project depth of 800 meters began in this part of the bloc.
The drilling work in the well is implemented in the depth of 250 meters. The work is implemented with the help of the drilling rig Khazar-4.
Absence of the platform in West Absheron area makes impossible the extraction of hydrocarbons. Several exploration wells were spudded here, which testified for existence of hydrocarbon reserves.
The SOCAR intends to build a perspective platform here, while it requires big funds. They also discuss the variants for re-profiling the drilling rig Khazar-4 to an exploitation one. After the well drilling it is expected to produce 5-6 tons of oil a day here.
