BATUMI OIL TERMINAL DELIVERS AROUND 6M TONS OF OIL CARGO

In January to August 2005 a total of 5.9 million tons of crude was delivered via the Batumi terminal located in the Black Sea basin, which is 1.4 million tons more than 2004, a source near to the port told Trend.

In 2004 deliveries via the Batumi port exceeded 6,778 million tons of oil cargo, or 1.9 million tons down 2003.

According to the same source, in August 2005 the delivery via the Batumi port made up 687,500 tons, or 51,800 more than August 2004.

The discharge capacity of the Batumi oil terminal is 15 million tons of oil cargo a year. The terminal serves to tankers with deadweight of 30,000-90,000 tons in 4 piers, including a buoy for Aframax vessels. At present the capacity of the reservoir park of the terminal is 530,000 tons, which is sufficient for delivery of the forecast volume to run via the corridor.
