TERMINAL IN MAKHACHKALA DELIVERS 2.7M TONS OF OIL

The Makhachkala terminal located in the Caspian has delivered a total of 2,698 million tons of oil in the Iranian and Russian direction in January to August 2005, or 10,000 tons more as compared to 2004, Trend was reported at the regional oil transportation market.

The project capacity of the terminal in Makhachkala is approximately 8 million tons a year. Three piers are in condition to admit tankers with the deadweight of 10,000 tons.

In August a total of 350,000 tons of oil was transported in the direction of Iran and Russia. 30,000 of the total was delivered to Iran and 320,000 tons - to Russia. In January to August crude transit via Makhachkala comprised 128,000 tons, or 459,000 down as compared to 2004.

In 2004 the port delivered 3.96 million ton of oil, which is 850,000 more than 2003.
